Prekindergarten Teacher

Full Time Prekindergarten Teacher

Job Summary

Attends to children ages 4 years old to 5 years old at our childcare institution.

General Accountabilities

Lead teacher creates developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
Lead teacher communicates with children’s parents or guardians about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues.
Reads to children and teaches them painting, drawing, crafts and songs.
Maintains a safe play environment.
Observes and monitors children’s play activities.
Disciplines children and recommends or initiates other measures to control behavior, such as caring for own clothing, and picking up toys and books.
Sanitizes toys and play equipment.
Performs general administrative tasks, such as taking attendance.
Organizes and participates in recreational activities and outings, such as field trips.
K-8 assistants may help children with school work.

Job Qualifications

Education: At least a High School Diploma or greater
Experience: At least one year in a licensed childcare or education setting.
